Qualifications for Indian Government Scholarships in 2025:
For the Indian Government Scholarship to be considered:
- A summary of the intended field of study should be included by students applying for PhD or post-doctoral programs.
- Video/audio tapes of their recorded performances should, if at all possible, be enclosed by students who want to study performing arts.
- Candidates need to speak English well enough.
- Students who have never studied in India before will be given preference; applications submitted to ICCR directly by students or through local Embassies/High Commissions in New Delhi will not be accepted.
- No applications will be accepted for admission to dentistry/nursing or MBBS/MD courses.
- Candidates should be aware that Indian universities and educational institutions have their own qualifying requirements that must be met because they are autonomous and independent. Please be aware that the University’s acceptance of your application does not ensure that you will be admitted. Only if ICCR confirms admittance is a scholarship given out.
- The student needs to have the appropriate visa. Students should make sure the Indian Embassy or High Commission issues them the appropriate visa. According to guidelines set forth by the Government of India, a scholar will be deported to their home country if they arrive without the required visa and their actual admission to the university or institute does not occur.
- Before leaving for India, students should ask the Indian Diplomatic Mission in their home country for a comprehensive briefing about living conditions in India, scholarship specifics, and the kind and length of the course they have been accepted into. In order for ICCR to plan for their reception and other needs, scholars should notify the Indian Embassy or High Commission well in advance of their travel itinerary.
- It is recommended that scholars pack some cash for unforeseen expenses when they arrive in India.
- When applying for admission, scholarship recipients should bring original copies of any documentation proving their eligibility for the college or university in question.
