After breaking the ABU record with a CGPA of 4.94, Nuhu Ibrahim receives a distinction from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom.
After breaking multiple records at his alma mater, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Nigeria, Nuhu Ibrahim, a brilliant Nigerian graduate, received a distinction in his Master’s degree from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom.
Nuhu Ibrahim achieved a First Class Degree with a CGPA of 4.94, surpassing the previous all-time high of 4.93 out of a possible 5.00, breaking the record held by Ahmadu Bello University in the Department of Computer Science.
After graduating from Ahmadu Bello University, he received the Dean’s Annual Prize for the Best Faculty Overall Student of the 2017–2018 academic year.
He applied for a master’s degree at the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom after earning an outstanding first class in computer science for his bachelor’s degree. He signed up to pursue an MSc in Advanced Computer Science with a focus on AI.
With an overall score of 84% and a distinction of 81%, Nuhu Ibrahim completed the requirements for the MSc Advanced Computer Science with Specialization in Artificial Intelligence degree at the University of Manchester.
On Linkedin, he celebrated his achievement and noted that although the process that earned him the distinction was hard, it was worthwhile.

His dissertation, “Automatic Detection of Deaths from Social Networking Sites,” made a significant contribution by successfully developing a machine learning approach for the distinction between pre-mortem and post-mortem online posts of concerned followers associated with social networking site profiles in order to detect deaths automatically, he explained.
“A step toward developing and implementing an international standard for transferring digital estates to the next-of-kin of Internet users who die a sudden death is the automatic detection of deaths of users of social networking sites.”
