Twins siblings emerges best graduating students at US High school, gains admission to university
AMERICA| The twin siblings get accepted to a university after graduating as the top students in their US high school.
The salutatorian and valedictorian of Central High School in the United States are Imrane and Mounira Oumarou Ba, fraternal twins from Niger.
Their outstanding accomplishment demonstrates their scholastic prowess and perseverance following their 2015 immigration to the US.
The twins said they never thought they would place in the top two in their graduating class, despite having impressive grade point averages of 4.5 and 4.4, respectively.
“It’s very surreal for me because I really didn’t expect this much attention. A lot of friends and people have contacted us and said, ‘Wow, I didn’t know you were at the top of your class.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, me too!’ I’m surprised,” Mounira said.
Imrane and Mounira entered the American school system in 2015 after relocating from Niger, Africa, to Maryland. Adjusting to a new culture and overcoming the language barrier was challenging, but through the Prince George County ESOL program, the twins excelled.
While Imrane initially aimed to simply meet high school requirements, Mounira was motivated to exceed expectations and make her parents proud. Their dedication paid off, culminating in their outstanding academic performance.
The twins supported one another socially and academically during their tenure at Central High School, remaining inseparable. Imrane was an avid participant in athletics, running track, playing tennis, lacrosse, and soccer.
In addition to playing on the girls’ soccer and tennis teams, Mounira took up the role of sports manager for her brother’s soccer team after being denied entry into the boys’ league.
Although she admitted that having a twin could occasionally be too much to handle, she underlined the value of their support of one another, particularly when navigating unfamiliar situations. “Having someone to support you at all times is a relief,” she remarked.

The Oumarou Ba twins are set to continue their education at Louisiana State University (LSU), where they will pursue different academic paths. Imrane, an avid Lionel Messi fan, plans to major in sports medicine.
Mounira will study international relations and political science, with aspirations of traveling the world and making a meaningful difference. Despite their different career goals, the twins are committed to working hard and staying humble, values instilled in them by their parents.
“They’re happy because the main goal of moving to the United States was for us succeeding but when it comes to the limelight, they are firm believers in remaining humble doing what you need to do,” Imrane said.,” Imrane said.
Imrane gave guidance to youngsters just starting their academic careers. Treat yourself with kindness. The process does not need to be hurried. Go slowly. He said, “There are times when you just have to take a step back, look at a few things, adjust to the changes, and rock with it.”
Mounira emphasized her dedication to using her education to change the world while expressing excitement about meeting new people and traveling.
