A bright Nigerian man with reading difficulties overcomes all obstacles to earn accounting bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees.
Alex Adegboye, a bright Nigerian who struggled with reading as a child, has overcome all obstacles to have a prosperous academic career. He has earned bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in accounting.
After graduating from Covenant University with a doctorate in accounting, Alex took to Likedin to celebrate his accomplishment. He recounted how he had dyslexia as a child and never would have thought he would hold a doctorate.
Reading difficulties caused by difficulties recognizing speech sounds and decoding their relationship to letters and words are a symptom of dyslexia, a learning condition.
Alex graduated from Covenant University with a Ph.D. in Accounting, specializing in Taxation, Governance, and Development in the Global South. He put a lot of effort into becoming an academic scholar in spite of his reading difficulties.

He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Accounting at Bowen University after which he proceeded to take an advanced course at the University of Ibadan, Nigerian before he proceeded to Bowen University for a master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, and Finance.
Alex stated that earning a doctorate has been a transformative experience, pushing her to overcome challenges and grow into a lifelong scholar. He said his research focuses on issues with a global reach, aiming to create a lasting impact beyond the academic sphere.
He claimed that because he knew his work may have an impact on the world and lead to positive change, he was able to publish in esteemed journals while pursuing his doctorate.
