Details of the University of Kent Burnett Scholarship

The University of Kent is happy to announce the first-ever Burnett Scholarship program for the DICE Masters program in 2025–2026, which is open to applicants from the KAZA region of Africa.

Up to six scholarships will be available at the university in 2024 and for the following two years thanks to the kindness of the Notsew Orm Sands Foundation.

A fully financed studentship in our taught Masters program in Conservation Science will be awarded to the chosen candidate.

Qualifications for the 2024 Burnett Scholarship

In order to be eligible for the Burnett Scholarship, you need to:
• Be citizens of Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, or Zimbabwe, or hold formal refugee status there.
• Have worked in the conservation field for at least two years.
• Have a strong undergraduate degree, with at least a UK 2:1 or its equivalent.
• Comply with the University of Kent’s English language standards as well as the UK Visas and Immigration Requirements.

• Full tuition fees, a monthly stipend, and travel costs to and from the UK are all covered by the Burnett Scholarship.
• The scholarship is for the Conservation Science Taught Master’s program at DICE, which will begin in September 2025.
