A young man celebrates accomplishments after graduating from a UK institution and being called to the bar simultaneously.

Abdul Qudoos Sohal, a young man from Pakistan, has accomplished the remarkable accomplishment of simultaneously receiving his university degree and being called to the bar.

According to the university’s website, Abdul earned his Bachelor of Laws from City London, United Kingdom, but the Covid-19 Pandemic caused his graduation to be postponed.

As a member of The Honorable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, he continued his education at City Law School, where he was admitted to the Bar of England and Wales. He also crossed the stage to pick up his bachelor’s degree the day after graduating from law school.

Abdul was also the student speaker at the university’s graduation ceremony. “I decided to continue studying the Bar at City because I wanted to become a barrister,” Abdul stated.

“I’ve had a busy few days because I was called to the Bar of England and Wales yesterday as a member of The Honorable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, which allows me to practice law as a barrister,” he continued.

He participated actively in all facets of the university while he was a student. Abdul served as President of the International Student Society and the Grays Inn Society in addition to serving as a Student Councilor at the City’s Students’ Union.

He is currently employed in his native Pakistan as a Managing Partner at his legal practice, Sohal Law Chambers. Additionally, Abdul frequently instructs students at Lahore, Pakistan’s Superior College and Blackstone School of Law and Business.

Abul pursued a master’s degree in law (LL.M.) at the same City University in the United Kingdom after receiving his bachelor’s degree. “I’ve always been motivated to share the knowledge I’ve acquired through my education,” Abdul stated.

This sentiment has persisted throughout my time at City, and now that I’ve graduated, I teach professional ethics, tort law, and trust law to about 600–700 students. In the same way that my City professors inspired me, I want to inspire my students,” he continued.
