The finest graduating student from the Faculty of Law at Adekunle Ajasin University in Nigeria is a bright Nigerian named Adebowale Raphael Omolasoye, who received a first-class degree with an outstanding cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.68.
Adebowale shared his motivational story on LinkedIn, attributing his achievement to perseverance, discipline, and faith. He started his academic career in 2018 by pursuing his goal of becoming a lawyer.
He started a career of academic excellence after earning an outstanding 277 on the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which allowed him to be admitted to the Faculty of Law.
Looking back on his first semester at the institution, Adebowale explained how earning a nearly flawless GPA inspired him to aim even higher.
He persisted in his pursuit of greatness, motivated by the accomplishments of other academics and by his faith. Adebowale was the Faculty of Law’s Best Graduating Student for the 2023–2024 school year.
He received multiple notable honors for his exceptional performance, including the Faculty Prize for the Best Graduating Student in Law.
Additionally, he was given the Abiola Ojo Prize for Excellence in Constitutional Law, the Hon. Justice Ogunwumiju Prize for the Best Graduating Student, and the Oyesanmi F. Alonge Award of Excellence for the highest grade point in the Faculty of Law.
Adebowale excelled in 64 classes with 44 “A” marks and 20 “B” grades, maintaining first-class GPAs across all 10 semesters, which is evidence of his dedication.
Adebowale demonstrated his dedication to community impact and personal development by embracing leadership roles outside of the classroom. He held a number of positions, such as Attorney-General at the Kayode Eso Public Chamber of AAUA and Managing Partner at the Equity Private Chamber.
In addition, he was the General Secretary of the AAUA Intellectual Property Law Club and the Head of Research at the Kayode Eso Public Chamber.
Through these positions, he developed his leadership abilities and had a great impact on his peers, encouraging professional growth and academic achievement in his community.
Adebowale feels that God’s grace has played a significant role in his career and attributes his accomplishments to it. With thankfulness and hope for the future, he said, “This milestone is a step towards the realization of my dream.”
He is still dedicated to having a positive influence in the legal industry and beyond as he anticipates more achievements.
