Scholarship from the Shanghai Government Two kinds of scholarships are offered by SGS to the recipient:
Full Scholarship, Type A

Qualifications for the Shanghai Government Scholarship

The candidate must meet each of the requirements listed below in order to be eligible for the Shanghai Government Scholarship:

  • Languages Needed: In general, applicants should meet the language criteria of the program and the applied university, as well as attain the Chinese level of HSK4.
  • All nations in the world are eligible, with the exception of Chinese nationals.
  • Candidates must be in excellent health and not be Chinese nationals.
  • Pre-college applicants must be under 23 and have completed high school.
  • Candidates for the bachelor’s degree program must be under 25 and have completed high school.
  • Candidates for the master’s program must be under 35 and hold a bachelor’s degree.

How Can I Apply for a Government Scholarship in Shanghai?

To apply for the Shanghai Government Scholarship, please follow these detailed instructions:
1. The applicant should go to http://study.edu.sh.gov.cn/en/ise.html to register and submit their application. Download the application form and submit it online.

2. The applicant must register and submit an online application on the website of the chosen university (the list of universities is provided above). Pay the application fee (if any) and submit your application online.

3. Download and print the application form after submitting it online. Send the university where you applied two sets of hard copies of your application materials: one set of originals and one set of photocopies.
