Qualifications for the Swedish Institute’s Global Professional Scholarships
The following criteria must be met in order for a candidate to be eligible for the Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals (SISGP):
• English is the required language.
• Suitable Nations:You have to be a national of one of the nations that is eligible for the scholarship.
•The SI Scholarship for Global Professionals is open to citizens of the following nations:
Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Belarus, Brazil, Cambodia, Cameroon, Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gambia, Georgia, Ghana, Guatemala, Honduras, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Moldova, Morocco, Myanmar (Burma), Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Rwanda, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Vietnam, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
Work experience: You need to have at least 3,000 hours of verified work experience.
• Leadership experience: From your prior or current job, you must have proven your ability to lead.
• Admission to universities: You must be able to pay tuition to Swedish institutions, have completed the admissions process, and be accepted into a master’s program by April 3, 2025.
• Nationality: You have to be a citizen of one of the nations that are eligible for the scholarship.
Dual citizenship: When applying for SI scholarships, you should only select one of your citizenships if you have two and both are qualified for the SI scholarship program or programs. As a result, you are limited to applying to one SI scholarship program. Candidates who use multiple citizenships to apply for more than one SI scholarship will be rejected.
• Master’s programs: SI scholarships must be available for the master’s program.
How can I submit an application for the Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals (SISGP)?
To apply for the Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals (SISGP), please adhere to these guidelines:
(1). From October 17, 2024, to January 16, 2025, apply for a master’s program at universityadmissions.se. The only master’s programs that qualify for SISGP are those that are listed. Observe the guidelines below.
• First, by January 16, 2025, apply to up to four master’s programs that are eligible at universityadmissions.se.
• You will receive an eight-digit personal application number after submitting your application to the master’s program or programs at universityadmissions.se. When applying to SISGP, you will need the number, so keep it handy.
- The application fee and any supporting documentation needed for university admissions must be received by February 10, 2025. There is no reimbursement for the application cost.
- You won’t be eligible for a SI scholarship if you didn’t follow the University Admissions application process or missed the deadlines.
- There are differences between the requirements and application processes for university admissions and SI scholarships.
(2). Use the guidelines below to apply for a SI scholarship between February 10 and 28, 2025.
- You can apply for a SI scholarship once you’ve finished your master’s program application. See above for more details on the necessary paperwork and papers.
- Use our online application site to digitally submit the necessary documentation between February 10 and 28, 2024.
- From 0:00 CET on February 10, 2025, to 23:59 CET on February 28, 2025, the online application gateway is accessible. During the application period, this page below will provide access to the online application gateway.
Documents needed:
- A motivation letter: for the 2025–2026 motivation letter, you must use the SISGP form.
- A curriculum vitae (CV): you must use the SISGP template, and it should not be longer than the template’s suggested page count. Extra pages won’t be taken into account.
- Two distinct letters of recommendation: the SISGP form is required for the letter of recommendation. Your professional experience must provide the basis for at least one letter of recommendation. If your participation in networks or civil society organizations outside of your regular employment provides the basis for the second letter of recommendation, it will be a plus. The referee’s signature and the official stamp of the relevant organization or notary office should be applied to the letters. After typing, printing, signing, and stamping the form or forms, they should be uploaded as a single PDF file.
- Proof of work and leadership experience: The SISGP form is required for this type of documentation. The referee must sign the work and leadership form and have it notarized or stamped with the official stamp of the organization they are referring.
