2025 Deutsches Museum Scholar in Residence Program (Fully Funded)

International students can apply for a fully financed scholarship through the Deutsches Museum Scholar in Residence Program 2025–2026. Both pre-doctoral and post-doctoral research are eligible for this prize. The annual stipend for this fellowship is €30,000.
International students who want to work on science and technology projects at Deutsches Museum Germany for six to twelve months are encouraged to apply for the Deutsches Museum Scholar-in-Residence Program. The scholarship program’s scope is multidisciplinary. Scholarship recipients will have access to a desktop computer and phone at work, as well as the opportunity to temporarily reside in apartments in subsidized museum complexes.

Scholarship Overview
• Study Location: Munich, Germany

• Possibility Focus Areas: When developing their research proposals, applicants are encouraged to work closely with museum staff on-site and to base their projects on the Deutsches Museum’s holdings. We particularly encourage projects that use creative methods for artifact-oriented research.

• Full-year pre-doctoral stipends: €15,000.

Qualifications
The following requirements must be met by the candidate in order to be eligible for the Deutsches Museum Scholar-in-Residence Program:
• German and English are the required languages.
• All nations in the world are eligible.
• A minimum of one university degree (Master’s or PhD) is required of the applicant.
As a requirement for the application, the candidate must be able to read German (passive language skills).
• It is required of the applicants to arrange for health insurance.
