Scholarship Reports

The following benefits are offered by the University of Waikato Scholarships:
• Undergraduate students will receive between $2,500 and $15,000:
• a) One-year tenure: tuition ranging from $2,500 to $8,000 for the first year.
• b) Duration of study: two years, between $2,500 and $12,000, with a maximum of $8,000 in the first year and a maximum of $4,000 in the second. Last modified on August 4, 2023.
• c) Three-year tenure: within the range of $2,500 to $15,000, with no more than $8,000 in the first year, $4,000 in the second, and $3,000 in the third.
• Between $2,500 and $15,000 will be given to postgraduate students, who will use the funds for one or more years of their studies.

Qualifications for Scholarships at the University of Waikato

In order to be eligible for the University of Waikato Scholarships, the applicant needs to meet each of the requirements listed below:
English is the required language.
• All nations in the world are eligible.
•A conditional or unconditional offer of admission, including a pathway offer for a degree packaged with the Certificate of Attainment in English Language, the Certificate of Attainment in Foundation Studies, the Certificate of University Preparation, the International Diploma (Business), the International Diploma (Computer Science), or the Diploma of Postgraduate Preparation (Pre-Masters) at the University of Waikato, must be received by applications to enroll full-time in an undergraduate or postgraduate program as a new international student in order to be eligible.

  • be enrolled in no undergraduate or graduate program at the University of Waikato and not have paid fees at the time of application;
    not be coming to the University of Waikato through a sponsoring body;
    • not be coming to the University of Waikato on a Guaranteed Credit Arrangement;
    • not be coming to the University of Waikato through a study abroad or student exchange agreement;
    • have a minimum GPA equivalency of B+ in the qualification used to gain entrance to the University of Waikato.
