Fellowship at the Clark Art Institute 2025 USA (Fully Funded)
International students from all over the world who plan to do postdoctoral research at The Clark Art Institute USA during the 2025–2026 academic year are eligible to apply for a Clark Fellowship. Each year, Clark offers eleven to sixteen scholarships, most of which are given for a single academic semester and range in duration from one to ten months.
Scholars, critics, curators, and museum professionals from both domestic and foreign institutions are encouraged to suggest initiatives that deepen and expand knowledge of the visual arts and their cultural significance. Along with a substantial art history library, the Institute offers a complex array of academic and research activities in addition to a public art museum. Clark serves as a global hub for discussions about the nature and history of art.

Scholarship Reports
The Clark Art Institute Fellowship has a maximum rate of $30,000 per semester and is given out according to need and income. Fellows’ tax obligations to the US government will be evaluated on an individual basis in compliance with Internal Revenue Service tax laws. The scholar and a family member traveling with them will receive reimbursement for their travel expenses to and from the Clark.
Across the street from the Clark campus, fellows are often given an apartment in a newly renovated and enlarged late nineteenth-century home. There are six apartments available, each with one to two bedrooms and extra communal areas. Every unit is connected to the Clark’s computer network and comes completely furnished. The Clark will provide lodging and services, with the exception of long-distance phone service. The Scholars’ Residence does not allow pets. It is strictly forbidden to smoke within any Clark building.
The Manton Research Center offers fellows a private office that is open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. (early closing times on weekends). IT help and computers will be available upon request.
Qualifications for the Fellowship at the Clark Art Institute
Applicants must fulfill the following requirements in order to be considered for a Clark Art Institute Fellowship:
English is the required language, and all nations worldwide are eligible.
• They could have backgrounds in academia, museums, or other professions.
• Candidates should have a PhD or show that they have comparable work experience.
• They could be independent scholars, curators, critics, or full- or part-time employees.
• Outstanding writing abilities.
• Outstanding research abilities: familiarity with performing empirical research on one’s own, with qualitative research (including conducting interviews and qualitative analysis), and ideally with quantitative research as well.

3. Write out the details of your referees (please remember that they must write a one-page letter to research@clarkart.edu).

• An English-language statement (pdf; no more than three double-spaced pages) outlining the fundamental presumptions and commitments that drive your endeavor. Setting the project in the framework of previous research, highlighting what is novel or exceptional in the topic and/or methodology, and outlining the disciplinary need for this specific project are all crucial.
