The Texas Tech University Scholarship is given out every year and covers half of the cost for the fall semester and half for the spring semester. You will be eligible to pay in-state tuition if you are a non-resident who has been granted a Presidential Scholarship.

Details of the Texas Tech University Presidential Scholarship:

The offer of a Presidential scholarship takes precedence over any other offers if a student is qualified to earn one from the TTU Presidential Scholarship program. Only Texas Tech University programs are eligible for Presidential Merit Scholarships. Scholarships from Texas Tech University are not transferable to Angelo State University, Texas Tech Costa Rica, or Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC).

The Texas Tech University Presidential Scholarship eligibility requirements for 2025

It include being a first-year incoming freshman (college credits obtained through dual-credit, CLEP, or AP do not disqualify you) and meeting the test scores and class rank requirements.

Throughout your academic career at TTU, you must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Adhere to the cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) specified on MyTech’s “Terms and Conditions” tab.
  • Continue to be enrolled full-time in an academic program at Texas Tech University and earn at least 30 TTU hours year (as determined in May).
  • Maintain up-to-date addresses on MyTech, including email addresses.
  • As instructed by the Texas Tech University Scholarship Office, write a thank-you note to the scholarship giver.
  • Participate in mandatory donor events.

 

Advantages of 2025 The annual grant amounts for the Texas Tech University Presidential Scholarship are distributed half in the autumn and half in the spring. If you receive a Presidential Scholarship as a non-resident, you will also be eligible to pay in-state tuition.
