2025 MTN Scholarship Details:
Since 2010, the MTN Foundation has made the MTN Scholarship Scheme one of its main initiatives. It is available to qualified undergraduate students enrolled in public tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
The scholarship, which was introduced in 2012, is intended for blind students enrolled in any course in Nigerian public tertiary institutions (colleges of education, universities, and polytechnics) who are eligible at the 200 and 300 level.
As long as they retain the necessary grades, 300 successful students will get scholarships totaling ₦300,000.00 every year until they graduate. Every year until they graduate, 60 blind students who succeed are also given scholarships totaling ₦200,000.00.

As of 2020, the top 10 UTME scorers as determined by JAMB are automatically eligible for the top 10 UTME scholarships each year.

MTN Scholarship Requirements for 2025:

- Students in Nigerian public tertiary institutions are eligible to apply for the MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS) and the MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS).
- The MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS) is available to blind students at the 200 and 300 level, while the MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS) is available to students at the 300 level.
However, only 300 level students are eligible to apply for the MTN Scholarship for blind students enrolled in a five-year law program.
- After fulfilling grade standards, MTN will also provide scholarships to the top 10 UTME applicants from their 100 level onwards to graduation.
CGPA Requirements Include;
- The MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS):
The minimal cumulative grade point average (CGPA) for STEM students at public universities and education colleges is 3.0/4 or 3.5/5 (second class higher credit).
o In order to be admitted to the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program, STEM students at public polytechnics must have earned a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Program.
o STEM students at the direct entry level must have earned admission to a public university’s third year at the 300 level and have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) program.
- MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS):
o Blind students in public polytechnics must have a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.0 from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Program and must have been accepted into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program. o Blind students in universities or colleges of education must have a minimum CGPA of 2.5.
MTN Scholarship Reward and Duration
- Every year, at least 500 students receive scholarships of ₦300,000.00 (three hundred thousand naira) apiece, which cover living expenses, book allowances, and tuition for a single academic year.
- In the project’s initial phase, 500 qualified students in their second year of study in science and technology-related fields at 44 federally and state-owned postsecondary institutions received the MTNF Scholarship grant.
