Glasgow University Graduate Scholarship Details:
A distinguished combined MRes/PhD program in economics is available at the Adam Smith Business School. First comes the two-year MRes program.
Priority admission to the three- to four-year PhD stage will be granted to candidates who finish the MRes at a high enough level. Funding is renewable every year, and beginning in year two, there is a small teaching commitment.
Up to six studentships, each comprising tuition and a stipend for a maximum of five years, will be funded by the University of Glasgow to allow students to complete extensive MRes (pre-PhD) training before going on to conduct supervised independent research in a selected area of economics, culminating in a PhD.

- Have an offer for the MRes Economics program beginning in September 2025 in order to be eligible for the University of Glasgow Scholarship.

The University of Glasgow Graduate Scholarship 2025’s advantages
The maximum duration of the scholarship is five years. Funding for each year is contingent upon acceptance into the PhD program and successful advancement. It covers:
- tuition at the regular Home/EU or foreign rate;
- a yearly bursary equal to the RCUK rate, which is estimated to be £19,795 for 2025–2026.
