Scholarship Reports
The recipient of a University of Geneva Excellence Masters Fellowship receives:
• A grant of CHF 10,000 to CHF 15,000 annually (no teaching responsibilities).
• If the candidate is academically successful at the conclusion of his or her first semester of studies, the prize is granted for a year and extended for the standard three or four semesters of the selected Master’s degree.
Qualifications for Masters Fellowships in Excellence at the University of Geneva
Candidates must meet all of the requirements listed below in order to be eligible for University of Geneva Excellence Masters Fellowships:
• French or English are the required languages.
• All nations in the world are eligible.
This program is for you regardless of your home university, whether you have completed or are pursuing an outstanding bachelor’s degree, and if you rank among the top students in your year!
• You must be chosen for an Excellence Fellowship based on your application file and fulfill the requirements for admission to the Master of your choice.
How Can I Apply for Masters Fellowships in Excellence at the University of Geneva?
To apply for a University of Geneva Excellence Masters Fellowship, please complete these steps:
(1) Sign up for a Master Program (the online application will reopen in January 2024) by clicking this link.
(2) The following documents, in the form of a SINGLE PDF file, must be included with the application (in either English or French):
- A copy of your passport or national identity card.
- A copy of your UNIGE card, or if you haven’t enrolled yet, the central administration’s email titled “accuse-reception de votre demande d’immatriculation” (that is, evidence that you have begun the matriculation procedure).
- A curriculum vitae, no more than two pages.
- The exam transcript, with all grades, for the bachelor’s degree.
- A letter of motivation outlining your particular scientific interests and the reasons you want to enroll in the University of Geneva’s Master of Science program.
- If at all possible: Reference letters attesting to your suitability for this program from two instructors, ideally emailed directly to Excellence-Master-Sciences@unige.ch.
- Any any relevant data, such as GRE (General Requirements Examination), TOEFL, or other language test results.
(3) The online application process is used. You will receive an email with a personal link to complete the application form after registration.
