The European Commission-funded Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Program EMOTION trains the next generation of translational scientists in the field of skin health and care. There are three categories of applicants for the EMOTION/Erasmus Mundus Joint Program:
- Applicants for Erasmus+ scholarships: For 24 months, students who are awarded an Erasmus+ scholarship receive 1,400 euros a month.

They are exempt from paying participation fees. They are insured for student services, university registration, and health insurance. According to the mandatory EMOTION mobility path, scholarship recipients must use their monthly scholarships to pay for their mobility expenses (such as travel, visa, and residency permit fees). There are no extra costs for installation or transportation.
- Non-fee paying self-funded applicants: Their health insurance, university registration and student services are covered. They have instead to cover their living, housing and travel costs, including accommodation and travel costs according to the mandatory EMOTION mobility path.
- Fee paying self-funded applicants: The participation costs are € 4,500 per academic year (€ 9,000 in total). They include health insurance, university registration and student services. They do not include costs for living, housing and travel, including accommodation and travel costs related to the mandatory EMOTION mobility path.
Eligibility Requirements for the 2025 Erasmus Mundus Joint Program
In order to be considered for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Program, a candidate must:
Have a Bachelor degree (or higher degree) from an accredited academic higher education institution* (equivalent to a European undergraduate degree of 180 ECTS) in a field related to the Program area with a background in both biology and chemistry (Pharmacy, Medicine, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, and degree judged as equivalent); candidates from outside the EU must meet the visa requirements for the countries in which each host institution is located, though the Masters’ secretariat will offer guidance.
For non-native English speakers only, evidence of English proficiency at least at level B2 is provided by an internationally recognized certificate.
